TMC email - state of play

Postby phil » Mon Jul 26, 2004 11:05 am

For those of you that use it, I'm sorry but TMC email is still not fully sorted.

The problem is that you cannot send email from an email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, Outlook Express etc) to anyone outside TMC. For the technically aware out there I am having problems with the authentication mechanisms that prevent TMC from being a spammers tool - an open relay.

If you have a TMC email account and you want to send an email outside TMC all is not lost however. If you use the webmail service then you will not have any problems.

Hopefully I'll get this sorted really soon and will then be able to move onto more visible and useful projects like sorting out our search engine issues.

Cheers, and thanks for your patience.

Phil

Norman Tebbit!

Who of the Brits who are old enough to understand this shorthand crack wants to explain it?

Usually mis-quoted as "On yer bike". Full quote from a Norman Tebbit speech was something like, "My father was out of work. He didn't riot, he didn't **something else I can't remember**, he got on his bike and he looked for work."

You asked for it...

Cheers,

Hugh
