IMPORTANT - TMC mail users

I have started the process to transfer the .com domain to the new server. It should be under way shortly when Dedicated Servers support see my request. It should not take long - the changes are for the most part within the same datacentre, so the issue of DNS changes propagating across the whole internet should not apply.

If you don't know what I'm rambling on about, ignore me - but don't ignore the next bit if you have a TMC email address. If you don't, why are you reading this?

When the changeover is complete the following changes to your TMC email service will apply:

Your POP username will be the same as your mailbox name.

Eg in my case instead of "pop.phil-0" my POP name will simply be "phil" .

You get the idea.

Fingers crossed!

Phil

Oh and for those of you that use our Squirrel Mail webmail service - that isn't in place yet on the new box (I do need to sleep sometime!) but I hope to get time to fix that up during the day tomorrow (Tuesday).

** At long last **

I finally got Dedicated Servers support to start the transfer (about 30 minutes ago). The information is propagating across the Internet as nameservers update their caches.

POP3 / IMAP email should be available soon for direct email clients, using the revised account details published. Webmail will be along a little later after I get Squirrel Mail installed on the new server, and get an appropriate subdomain configured.

Happy days

Oh and another thing to realise is that all of the various domains are now equivalent for email addresses too. So user @ the-dot-com-domain and user @ dot-co-dot-uk-domain are the same mailbox and may be used interchangeably. Also true for dot-net, dot-org and dot-eu-dot-com.

Just so as you know!
