Final warning

Postby phil » Thu Jul 15, 2004 3:26 pm

OK everyone that has a TMC email account, please be aware that the final cutover of the domain will take place very soon - most likely over the weekend.

When this happens, two things will happen to TMC email:
  1. The POP usernames will be the mailbox name for every user. For example mine will become "phil". None of the "pop.username-x" nonsense forced upon us by the existing server. You'll need to change your email clients accordingly.
  2. Your mailbox contents will not be migrated. Please download any emails that are still in the mail boxes as soon as possible, or be prepared to lose them.

The good thing of course is that we'll be a ".com" domain again rather than a ".co.uk" one, which is hardly appropriate for a pan-European forum.

This warning will be repeated by email to all members.

Best

Sorry, stupid question, but this doesn't effect the PMs, does it? (about: ...your mailbox contents will not be migrated)...
You are only talking about the xxx@toomuchcoffee.com email (which I never used til now), right?

Correct. Email only. PMs are a feature of the web site and thus were migrated some time ago.
