Planned Outage

Postby phil » Tue Jul 25, 2006 7:38 am

Just so you know.

TMC's server is owned by TMC Internet and co-located at Telehouse in London's Docklands. As part of the modernisation activities being undertaken by our co-location partner Titan Internet, our server is to be moved to a new rack on Friday evening. Titan sent me this email:
As part of our ongoing modernisation of our Telehouse facility, it is
necessary to temporarily shut down your server on Friday the 28th of
July, from 10pm onwards. This is so that your server can be moved into
a new, high specification rack with improved ventilation and power
supply.

Due to the size of the project, there being some 28 servers to move plus
cabling, it is not possible to be more precise than 'after 10pm and
before 8am the next morning', however we hope that due to simple nature
of the move (no IP address changes) the work will be completed in far
less time. The last phase, consisting of over 22 servers, only resulted
in 3 hours downtime for customers!

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Phil

Two hours without too much coffee! That's bad if you ask me.
Three Francesconi (CMA) espresso machines - Rossi, San Marco, LaCimbali, Faema and 2 Mazzer Major grinders- CoffeeTech Maggionlino, Hottop, Alpenröst and HW Precision roasters.
I decided I needed a bit of a change so I roasted some Monsooned Malabar. That was a change!
