Things are fine, I graduated and found a job. I took some time to assemble the Speedster, but now I am enjoying its coffee.

Linux is working great now. I stuck with Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric and Gnome 3.2 and in combination with Virtual box - for people who insist getting word-files - this is a great solution. I just love the Gnome 3 user interface.

Aadje great work, graduated and pretty much straight into a job - must take time to hunt down details on the Speedster - forget somewhat what it was all about.

Played a little with Ubuntu for recovery purposes only, never tried Gnome but taken a quick look and it looks quite tasty - might throw it on something when I get chance, mostly I use Windows 7, toying with Windows 8 on a netbook modded to a tablet dual boot with OSX 10.6.7, on my main laptop Windows 7 64bit quad boots with Win 7 32bit, OSX 10.6.3 and OSX 10.7

/me is also a fan of the new Gnome!

It will seem like an uphill struggle at the start, you will get there though - just keep positive - eventually it will all fall into place.

Several high profile celebraties have had serious accidents on Quad Boots. Ozzy Osbourne has brain damage from from switching operating systems so please take care.
I always wear my tinfoil helmet when switching from XP to Win 7, I would love to use Gnome but he is too busy fishing and my netbook gets very wet in the garden.

Good to see you all safely emerging from the Autumn dead zone.

Good to see you are still here Motoman, every forum needs someone to stand up for common sense and straight forward thinking.

Mint is nice, and according to distrowatch you're not the only one :)

You could consider Lubuntu, it's supposed to be even lighter.

Puppy is super light and really effective, barely a footprint.

Because the Quad boot wasn't quite geeky enough, I can also boot a VM from Lion using Parallels and run my main Windows 7 64bit within Lion 64bit - it's a computer running inside a computer - freaky!

Hmmm, sounds like I might be missing out on something with my DR-DOS and Win 3.2 here. Maybe I should upgrade to NT. :?

I don't think you are missing out on much Bruce. I am still working with shoe boxes full of punched cards and find them adequate for my needs.
