Members country of origin - please!?!

Postby Joey » Sun May 02, 2004 8:02 pm

I'd love to know where everybody is from - to be sure I always look at the "Memberlist" from TMC - but 3 members don't have their country/city on their resume....I know some wrote it in their greeting - speech, but it's easier accessable in the profile >pleeeease<

Thanks
Joey

I agree. We are European and it would be nice to display how diversified we are. Phil, is it possible to make the Country a mandatory Field?

Hmm.... not at the moment I think. I may be able to fudge it, but with Postnuke .8 and its new advanced user management facilities coming up in the wings I intend to focus on more important issues (like fixing the relaying problem in the bl***y mail server which stops TMC mail users emailing anyone outside TMC unless they use webmail!!)

How about a map of Europe with a dot for everyone's location or is that a bit of a cheesy idea?

Sounds fair to me. City (or nearest city) and country doesn't seem to be too personal!

Yup, I *really* like the idea. I've got a lot on at the moment - I'll do it as soon as etc.

However, making it display in the forum is a whole other thing compared to just being able to record it :-(

How about a quick reminder to those that haven't put anything in it, that they should put something in it? It doesn't need to be mandatory but it can't hurt to encourage people who may not even have realised that they can specify it.
