Places in Dundee, Scotland?

Postby RobsonBarista » Fri Jul 31, 2009 5:34 pm

Hey guys,

I am planning on another little trip to Dundee to see a friend soon and I was just wanting to find out if anyone here has had a good coffee in the city before.

Hmmm... had a look on google, and nothing really popped up, apart from the Tartan Coffeehouse, which is a such a funny name, uses 100% 'fairtrade', perhaps try there and report back!!

Otherwise, I'm home in fife for the week, have my sylvia, mazzer and a range of beans, feel free to pop in!!

You could try Coffee Exchange (www.coffeeexchange.org.uk). I haven't been there for ages, but they did try and do decent-ish stuff.

Tinderbox is in the Merchant City - on the corner of Ingram St, quite a large space - maybe it was there?

On the whole, there ain't much in Glasgow. I've heard some good things about Fantoosh in Princes Square, but haven't been myself. Other than that, Tapa Bakehouse roast their own beans (which they get from Mercanta) - but they are in the East End and South Side of Glasgow.

I'll be in Glasgow today, so maybe I'll pop in to Fantoosh and report back.
