Wow what a treat I had today. Just 15 minutes from my house in Nottingham, lies the bottle kiln. Some of you may recognise the name, 'home' to Maxine Beadsmore, who has competed in the UKBC over the past several years and came 2nd to Gwilym this year. Fortunately for me she was there today, we had a lovely chat about the UKBC, Gwilyms fantastic performances and got treated to a lovely cappa She was expectionally friendly, knowledgable and it was a real treat for me to be able to chat in depth to somebody so passionate and skillful.
The Bottle Kiln is part gallery, part shop and part cafe. They serve some tasty food as well as tasty coffee and the baristas are clearly well trained, churning out some nice looking rosettas too. It was a joy to see care and attention behind the espresso machine
A lovely place and atmosphere, tasty coffee - definitely pop in if you're passing!
