Is it actually possible to find a good shot?

Are there any good places to grab a coffee in the East Village/ West Village?

Thanks :)

Union station offers some surprisingly good take-out coffee. Its doubt its going to compare with the mentioned places, but the vendors there are def. significantly better than average.

ps - a word of advice: try not to backpack in DC, fall in love with a pretty South African, and marry her. Oh - sorry we're talking about coffee here and yes, we're still together ten years and 2 kids later ;)

Nice! Congratulations. My story of New York isn't as happy I'm afraid. I had all the plans made to be married there, flight and hotel booked, etc. Unfortunately, the date set was Sept. 12, 2001.

The happy ending to the story (for us) came a month later when we flew to Las Vegas.

I decided I needed a bit of a change so I roasted some Monsooned Malabar. That was a change!

bruceb - glad everything turned out okay in the end, although I suspect it was difficult at the time.

You're right Steve, it's Counter Culture Coffee. Great stuff! And Bruce, now that is what I'd call a bad timing.

Yes, well unfortunately I didn't have the inside information that Mr. Tenet chose to ignore. The hotel we had chosen was 100 yds from the WTC. :(
