Canary Islands brown stuff!!!

Postby Joey » Wed Jan 10, 2007 11:16 am

I think you can guess that this won`t be a compliment article.
For all I had to drink here on Gran Canaria - what the hell do they think they are doing here?
Brown water with no coffee taste at all!!!!!
Even if you enter a "Cafè" with an espresso machine---gross!
And one hint for everyone who needs to do a diet: Book "all inclusive" - you gladly stop eating after 3 days.
rant from a too cold island where not even coffee can warm my body and heat

That's really a shame Joey, bad coffee and bad food but bad weather also is too much.

also my experience - I ended up drinking instant coffee down there, but too bad about the weather, it's a very nice island when the sun shines :)

play some backgammon and drink some beer, that's therapy for ya'!

Ok, I am back. I survived. Drank a lot of tea...
At the end I striked back at the airport.
It was 4am, my mood was bad anyway, and the only opened cafeteria made me a cafe latte that tasted like a tea made of smoked corn. (I experienced-corn ice cream, that's where I have the aroma from)
I swear, not even the milk had a flavor, it was probably milk powder dissolved...
Not even the lightest coffee-like aroma!!!!!
I was sitting there, thinking what would I do if a customer doesn't like my drink?
Well, I would make ask him "what" he didn't like - the taste or the way how it was done - and in any way make him a new one and apologize.
What would happen if I give back the coffee on an airport cafeteria? Probably nothing.
But it was worth a try. The "barista" took it back without emotions and gave me a soda instead. Obviously he knew he wouldn't do any better on his next attempt.

And as they had forms in a little box where one can fill out the likes and dislikes of this place, I kindly asked them to LEARN HOW TO MAKE COFFEE!!!!!! They should at least use 7 gramm and groun dit freshly....

Well, I don't think that really helped, but hopefully in the future more people take the time to use these forms.
And more people will be so strong and send bad coffee back, as they do if their wine is not ok....

*sigh*
