I would recommend that you give the espresso fabriek a serious try (http://www.espressofabriek.nl). There are some other spots as well of which I can't remember their name nor location as I am verry seldom in Amsterdam. There is also a place called Brandmeesters (http://www.brandmeesters.nl/html_files/ ... inkels.htm) but it didn't impress me at all. It's kind of half shop / half bar with a nice Faema machine but they kind of forgot that they should keep their porta filters warm in their machine and not let them rest on the counter...

http://www.coffeecompany.nl/

They have 10 espresso points in Amsterdam

In Baarn (daytrip): http://goldencoffeebox.nl also in English

Barend Boot has a lot of Coffee (+knowledge)

Edit:

Please note that in most cases coffeeshop means something completely different in the Netherlands as in the rest of the world...
