Brewtus steam boiler not heating

Postby Tristan » Wed Aug 11, 2010 11:43 am

I switch the machine on and the display lights up with the temperature. The boiler light comes on for about 2 seconds, then switches straight off. Machine stays on, but nothing heats up...

Any ideas?

Thermostat issue perhaps? Maybe either misreading actual temps and switching off ther heat too soon, or some sort of safety cut-out being invoked? Bit of a pain whatever the cause :(

Yeh it is a pain. I think it happened after someone drained the steam boiler dry (I wasn't there and heard about it afterwards)... i'm guessing thermostat.

Steam boiler dry? Element melted? Can you check it with a multimeter? If you open it up please pull the mains plug first!

I decided I needed a bit of a change so I roasted some Monsooned Malabar. That was a change!
