Maurice, 160g of green beans comes up to just below the bottom of the glass at the start of the roast, but apart from the effect of the air lifting the beans, they expand to fill the glass pretty quickly anyway. The beans in the photo are in motion too (I staged this picture as you'll notice no chaff, but they are the 160g load I had just roasted in it).

I did literally 'cut' the metal roast chamber down and used 2 spacers inside the popper to hold it up in place, though for no other reason than I wanted to lift the roast up so I could watch it, so it's not necessary.

I run the popper continuously but as I've said, the heater and fan are now wired seperately so the fan is always running no matter what the heater is doing. As it's also controlled by a computer I can run a roast as long as I want depending on the profile. Currently between 4 and 12 minutes. I ended up bypassing the thermostat as a couple of roasts showed it to be more sensitive than the Prima I was using.
