My first blend...

I decided, on a whim, to blend 50% Celebes Toraja Kalosi with 50% Panama La Torcaza Estate. I roasted them separately to a dark Full City and they're now resting until tomorrow morning, when I'll try it out -- first with my press pot, then later with my moka pot.

Any guesses on how this should taste? Anybody ever blended those two before?

It was definitely bright with some citrus...and a strange spicy aftertaste. I'm not good with 'cupping' vocabulary, but that about sums it up. It was good...but my favorite is still the Bolivian Organic. :)

Well, it'll be a couple months before I deplete my stash, then I'll be looking around for more. Hopefully, you'll have some by then. :)

No, this is embarassing, as I usually pride myself at being observant and, at least, sometimes witty. But this one just flew right over me.

Oh dear, reading how the others describe the taste of their coffee makes me want to to degrade to instant coffee.
Dr Z, do you already sell coffee?

moccafaux,

Naw...I decided that the Portuguese wouldn't appreciate it, so I dropped the idea of commercial roasting. Instead, I'm doing a lot of home-roasting, and having friends over for coffee on occasion. :) Gotta start building a following somehow, ya know.
