There are a couple of videos on the mahlkonig website on removing/changing burr sets which may help.

Thanks for that, watched the video entitled "Gua - Access Grind Chamber for Cleaning or burr exchange" on http://www.mahlkonig.com/ and the part I'm stuck at is at about 32 seconds where he says "simply pull that off".
The same piece on my guat seems to have been hammered in and I cant budge it at all.

Maybe Tom (DSC) can help? I have the older Columbia model which has a slightly different setup.

Colin, the little wedge which holds the outer burr in will pry out with a screwdriver if it doesn't just pull out like in the video. Sounds a bit brutal but it's quite a crude setup and does no harm. Then just pry out the burr and auger assembly.

Hi guys,

shite that doesn't sound good. Normally it should just come out with a pair of pliers. You can try taking a screwdriver, placing it on the side of the wedge and knocking that with a hammer. It should move at least. There isn't really a different way to remove it and you can't take the auger off without removing that wedge. Other options would be:

- heating it up (with a torch?)

- using some WD40 on it to remove the old grease

dsc.
