turkish mocca

Postby moccafaux » Mon Oct 11, 2004 11:36 am

I am preparing this sometimes and wondered what kind of spice is added to the coffee.
It could be cardamon, but I am not sure. Couldnt get any answer from any turk I asked, so who knows?
There is no reason to buy this coffee , I want to do it myself.

yup - cardamom and sugar are often added.

I don't have the ratios to hand but I am sure Google does somewhere....

I'll never own too many items with which to enjoy coffee.

1: cardamom, eine Messerspitze (turkish?greek? depends in your guests ;-))
2: Cardamom + Peppermint (persisch)
3: add a Lukum beside the cup (sticky cubes made with rosewater)
4: add turkish honey beside the cup (whithe sticky stuff with nuts)
5: cook with milk and sugar (the balinese way...)

..do you cook it 3x?
"Latte" is french for "you've paid too much for your coffee"
