I have a large bodum(got an unwanted gift from ebay). It's very good. I do sometimes miss seeing my coffee brewing, but i guess this makes it more skillful. Was nice to see whether the grounds all just floated though. i do obv have smaller sizes in glass, but i like my bodum so much i tend to stick with it. the cafetiere jug is 100% solid drunken-earlymorning-drop-fool-proof, and it does a good job of slowing down the heat loss - a fair bit, but not so much the excess heat damages taste as i find with full thermos.
The weaker point, which i haven't managed to damage in any way yet, is the plunger. This has some plastic and rubber(as steve mentioned) and if it did break might be a b**ch to replace. like i say, no problems with it myself.
