For frenchpress/filter workloads, the new mahlkönig/baratza home grinder is said to be killer. It will be more expensive then the others, though.

You are talking about the Baratza Vario right luckas?
Mark Prince talked very highly about the Vario.
1st-line.com is taking preorders for the vario for $429, which means it'll be about €400 or £300 by the time it comes to europe.
The think is that I haven't seen many european retailers selling them, baratza seems to focus on the north american market.

Being sold as the Mahlkonig Vario grinder over here.

Looks good but the proof of the pudding will be in the eating.
