Bodum Columbia press

Having just trashed yet another cafetiere glass liner, I thought I would go for a stainless steel thermos type pot this time. So I got a Bodum Columbia:

and must say I wish I'd bought one many glass liners ago. It's a really beautifully made vacuum jug, combined with a one-piece plunger. This is a big improvement over the old 3-part designs, having far fewer dirt-traps and a silicone blade seal. Admittedly this comes at the cost of using a plastic moulding, but I very much doubt I'll taste the difference. Similarly, I know some palettes can detect stainless steel, but mine isn't one of them. Really good value for money for such a well-made object I think.
