well..
it's just I see so many new techniques and methods here I was wondering if there was some sort of a list
or is someone would like to sum it up
and what method is best for what result..

for example, what would be the best way to brew tasty coffee to fill a 0,75 Liter thermos

thanks

Maybe an Americano if you like milk with it. That way you could steam a little milk but the proportion of milk in the whole drink would be quite low and as it enevitably cools the drink won't be spoiled. Imagine a cappuccino slowly losing all the air from the milk and becoming nothing more than a very milky coffee .... not so good.

To do a thermos I'd use a vacpot..... a nice Kenya AA...

that is.... if I ever will use a thermos :)

yeah, once in a while I like to take some liquid along the ride
I do so in a thermos, although lately it's been a while
is that so weird?

I'm sure it will all change when I had my first real shot of espresso :)
but for the time beïng, bare with me.

Not weird. There is plenty of good coffee that can sit fine for a while in a thermos. Better than most motorway services coffee for sure :D

I agree, vacpot coffee to fill a thermos is real nice as a vacpot just makes a real decent pot of coffee.
Preheat the thermos first though before pouring the liquid black gold into it.

An espresso won't change everything, only good coffee beans can do. I second Joris suggestion,a Vacpot easily fills a thermojug full and makes very great coffee, especially with the Kenyans!

This might seem like a backward suggestion, but coffee filtered through paper might keep best in a thermos for a long time. I read somewhere that solids continue to extract after the brew and so the flavour degrades? Filtered might not taste as good as the other methods to begin with, but because it's 'clean', it might taste better after 5 hours? Maybe aeropress and vac-pot are good in this respect too?

Anyway, that said, I used to take Americano to work in a flask as Cakey suggests and that was still good at 10 am. :)

filtered through paper meaning a regular coffeemachine?
is this what you call drip coffee?
if so, to me it seems the coffee starts to taste different after beïng in the thermos for a while (stronger, less tasty)

a vac-pot, would this be the Bialetti Aadje was talking about in another thread?

drip coffee = snelfilter

vacuum pot =

which is completely different from Moka pots (eg Bialetti):

or the infamous Aeropress:

oh and yes, I like pictures :D
