Just back to the salt - contrary to popular belief sweetness doesn't counter bitterness, but salt (for most people) does. There is an interesting test you can do with salt and tonic water which I will elaborate on if anyone is bored.
Back to the Clover. I see the idea behind it and I hope to god it works. There are coffees out there that you want the general public to experience in their finest form. With many coffees this is not espresso, as said above. French press is great for this but it is slow and there is no to-go option. (In the US very few people [without laptops] seem to drink their coffee in store, unlike the British). Vac pots and all the rest are good but you lose the brewed as fresh as possible taste.
So the tie in between Artigiano's Clover and their winning CoE lot make perfect sense to me. I look forward to either getting to the States to try it or getting one sent over here somewhere. I wonder how much they cost.....
