If I am "going places" and need to make real espresso, I bring the
Java Rocket (I know I know, it's called Bacchi, but it sounds like it is about to take off, so for us it's the Rocket). It makes real espresso and you can just put it straight on top of the camping stove instead of first boiling the water in a separate pot. It looks great together with the Trangia
With polite hesitation I now must mention that if you are going to heat the water separately, there actually is the more compact and very travel friendly Handpresso, which also uses a pump for building up extraction pressure.
Oh, by the way, now it's getting kind of embarrassing, but Nomad guys... The Arrarex Caravel can be used the same way as your machine, is a true lever machine, has a nice large water container and (blush) comes with a built-in electric heater, if you happen to find yourself near a mains outlet.
I wonder if any one of these three (Bacchi, Aeropress, VAM/Arrarex Caravel) would have been a success at Kickstarter?
